Design, implementation, operation, production assurance and change management of a company-wide, multi-location trading and risk management platform. Includes: fund valuation and structuring, position keeping, VaR and sensitivity analysis, stress testing, compliance, administration, accounting and reporting, data automation and custody platforms.

Company-wide risk management platform for a major European bank

Design and implementation of a company-wide architecture for market, counterparty, country and operational risk and also Basel II implementation. The solution provides a scalable integration platform, which consolidates data from all front office systems, such as Murex, Kondor+, Front Arena, Sophis etc., and provides a central market data service with a risk engine for VaR calculation and aggregation.

Trading and risk management platform for the derivatives segment

Design, implementation, production assurance and change management of a front to back office trading and risk management framework for structured cross asset derivatives. This includes an integration platform for connected systems and reconciliation with other front office systems.

Uniform P&L calculation across all front office systems for a major international bank

Calculation of profit and loss (P&L) harmonised across the various front office systems at five different locations. Reconciliation of the economic P&L to an IFRS-compliant accounting P&L with a focus on daily availability rather than on absolute exactness in comparison with the official accounting system.

Creation of a hedging platform for management and risk hedging of explicit financial guarantees from life insurance products such as variable annuities. Consolidation of liabilities based on policies/model points and capital market products on the hedging side, and creating the interface for capital market access.

Comprehensive reconciliation solution for a leading European major bank

Creation of a solution for reconciliation between front office systems, and between settlement, front office and master data systems. The focus of the task was not just on reconciling instruments and positions, but also reconciling instrument-specific master data which is available in a central system, but is transferred into specific systems upon investment of the relevant instruments. Reconciliation processes were analysed, standardised and, as far as possible, automated. Desk-specific individual solutions were migrated to the new landscape.

Analysis, redesign and implementation of a new securities lending application for fund management. In operation for eight years.

Conception, production, testing, introduction and operation of a management information system (MIS) in the finance department. The MIS supports the production of regular notifications, the answering of ad hoc queries, auditing and reconciliation with the financial statements and the computation of figures relevant to financial statements, such as hidden reserves and losses.

STP-enabled front-to-back fund management and accounting system

Selection of an STP-enabled front-to-back fund management and accounting system including an integrated limit-monitoring module, implementation of the selected system including connection to external partners and counterparties (external STP), creation of market data supply (class data, share prices, ratings, indices, constituents) and an interface to external risk control.
