Machine Learning and Statistical Analysis across Industry Sectors

In our current projects, we are engaged in introducing AI techniques to our client's business cases. This includes novel reinforcement learning approaches to portfolio management in the financial sector, and explorative statistical analysis of wear and tear data in logistics. Our unique profile of experienced IT consultants and data scientists with close ties to state of the art research helps us in integrating novel approaches into existing infrastructure, as well as offering a smooth transition towards an efficient and analytical use of our client's data.

Natural Language Processing of News Feed Data

The opportunities of artificial intelligence are not limited to the advanced analysis of data - they also help exploiting previously inaccessible data sources. We have demonstrated how scraping news feed data from online sources like Twitter can contribute to improving predictive models of financial markets. Our activities covered the full scope from interacting with APIs allowing access to the actual news feed data, to the deployment of NLP models extracting quantifiable information, and finally the integration of this information into established mathematical prediction models.

Transaction Classification and Fraud Detection for an asset manager

In a pilot project DEVnet analyzed the capabilities of using novel statistical approaches from the field of artificial intelligence and data science to classify a large quantity (>1m) of transactions across multiple dimensions. One goal of the project was to find ways to establish a fully automated controlling system for mandatory regulatory reporting on foreign trade (AWV Meldung) to the German Bundesbank. DEVnet's team was able to analyze large scale datasets spanning over multiple years to train model ensembles consisting of hard coded rule-based models and a data driven Neural Networks that outperformed standard approaches in terms of quality and computational time.

DEVnet Kaggle Challenge Team

Our team of aspiring data scientists frequently participates in open data challenges stemming from variety of industry branches. A formidable opportunity in testing and broadening our skills in the field, we consider these challenges fundamental to our continued success and growth. As a team building event, we have tackled competitions posted by Kaggle with great success. Furthermore, we are eager to develop new Hackathon concepts in close connection to our clients. This provides a framework for testing innovative approaches in data science before transforming them into viable business cases.
